Keeping Your NO-BO at its Best!

We’re all about keeping things natural here, and that means NO-BO deodorant is made with soft, nourishing butters and oils that your skin will love. But here’s the thing—because it’s 100% natural, it can be a bit sensitive to heat. So, it’s best to avoid leaving it in direct sunlight, places like a hot car or a sunny windowsill —anywhere it could get too warm. On those scorchers, if your NO-BO gets too warm, it might decide to take a little vacation and melt.

No need to worry though! At normal household temperatures, it’s all smooth sailing. But if you're heading somewhere hot or packing your bags for a sunny adventure, we recommend keeping it in a sealed container. Now, this won’t stop it from melting (because if it’s hot, it’s hot), but it will keep things neat and tidy so your NO-BO doesn’t end up all over your belongings. 🌞✈️

And here’s the good news—if your NO-BO does melt, it will reharden once it cools down again! Just stand it upright and let it set. Avoid opening it if it's fully melted—otherwise, it might spill everywhere. Just leave the lid on, let it cool, and it’ll solidify back to normal. Now, because natural butters and oils can sometimes evaporate when it melts, there’s a small chance it might turn a bit crumbly when it solidifies again. It doesn’t always happen, but avoiding the heat is your best bet to keep your NO-BO in tip-top shape. 👍

If it does crumble, don’t stress—it’s still super effective at keeping you smelling fresh! But let’s be honest, a smooth NO-BO is definitely the way to go. So, give it a little TLC, keep it out of the heat, wind it down after use, and your NO-BO will be your trusty, all-natural sidekick.

A little extra care tip—when you’re done using your NO-BO, remember to wind it down and pop the lid back on. This will help keep it fresh, smooth, and ready to go next time.

Zinc ricinoleate: Zinc ricinoleate is the zinc salt of ricinoleic acid, a major fatty acid found in castor seed oil obtained from the seeds of the Ricinus communis plant. This ingredient traps and absorbs odor molecules, making them imperceptible to the odor receptors in your nose. 

Magnesium Hydroxide: Magnesium Hydroxide is a safe and naturally occurring compound and occurs in nature as the mineral brucite. It's a fantastic alternative to aluminum, baking soda and other ingredients that are potentially irritating, ineffective, or hazardous. Magnesium Hydroxide's main purpose in a natural deodorant is to counteract any odor-causing bacteria on the surface of the skin.

Cetyl Alcohol: Cetyl Alcohol is a 100% natural, vegetable derived fatty alcohol. It is an alcohol that is derived from a fat, such as a vegetable oil like Coconut Oil. Often mistaken as an "alcohol" it is in fact, quite the opposite. Cetyl Alcohol is skin-friendly with hydrating, conditioning, and softening properties that benefit both skin and hair. 

MCT (Medium Chain Triglyceride) Oil: is a natural product derived from vegetables (coconut or palm kernels). MCT is an emollient and helps give slip and glide to NO-BO. 

Cocoa Butter: Cocoa Butter is the pressed fat from the seeds, also known as Cacao Beans, of the Cocoa/Cacao Tree (Theobroma cacao L.). It's rich with antioxidants, vitamins E & K. and it is a great moisturiser 

Shea Butter: Comes from the nut of the shea tree in Africa. Shea butter helps nourish and protect your underarm skin.

Tapioca starch: Tapioca is a starch extracted from cassava root. It is a highly absorbent powder that is added for a non-sticky finish and sensation of comfort throughout the day. Tapioca is PH neutral and its role is to absorb any moisture which helps to fight bacteria and reduces odour too.

Willow oil: Willow Myrtle oil is an essential oil that we at Native Earth produce and manufacture ourselves. It has, what I would consider, an ‘Australian bush scent’. It is a pleasant smell, that isn’t overpowering. The oil has some wonderful properties in it. It contains some anti-microbial properties, (an antimicrobial is an agent that can kill microorganisms or stops their growth) which is fantastic for a deodorant.
